A shared meal
The meal is at the heart of the event — comfort, conversation and connection.
Our Projects
Alongside our refuge and support work, we run community projects that reduce isolation and give people the time and space to recover. Here are two of them.

Project one
Our Food & Friendship events create a relaxed, welcoming space where individuals and families impacted by domestic abuse can enjoy food and friendship as part of a warm, informal social gathering.
The meal is at the heart of the event — offering comfort, conversation and connection — alongside optional activities like creative workshops, book clubs, or business and wellbeing sessions. Each event alternates between women and men, with children welcome, ensuring a safe, focused environment.
This initiative supports emotional wellbeing, reduces isolation, and encourages gentle personal growth through meaningful relationships, shared stories and access to empowering opportunities.

Project two
Running monthly over four months, this initiative offers survivors a day dedicated to self-care, emotional healing and peer support.
The project responds to alarming statistics around the long-term impact of abuse, and provides survivors with dedicated space to recover, reconnect with themselves and access supportive wellbeing opportunities.
“After years of just surviving, this day helped me begin to feel human again.”

Gentle, respectful treatments delivered by qualified practitioners.
Led by a professional coach, at a pace that suits the group.
A proper, unhurried meal shared together during the day.
Reflective sessions and take-home items to encourage ongoing self-care.
If you would like to attend, refer someone, volunteer or help fund a future event, get in touch and we will talk it through with you confidentially.
